A woman in Ocala, FL., was arrested after an attempted shoplifting spree got a bit hairy; the woman fled the scene but left behind her wig and purse which contained an ID and cell phone among other items.
According to the Ocala Star Banner, Breanna La'Tedra Salmon was arrested at her residence and charged with retail petit theft, battery and resisting a merchant, according to authorities.
Salmon tried to take five tablets, which store officials said were valued at $248.70, to obtain money to help her mother pay the light bill, an arrest report states.
When loss prevention officers attempted to detain Salmon - she bit one on the hand and punched the other repeatedly in the face. Store management directed the loss prevention officers to release the suspect. As soon as she was released, she fled the scene in a nearby vehicle.
Police tracked her down using her ID - Salmon was arrested without further incident.
