Sim City and other Facebook games to go offline in June

EA announced their decision to take the popular Facebook games; The Sims Social, SimCity Social and Pet Society offline starting June 14, 2013.

They explain that this difficult decision was made due to dwindling interest in the games, and that this should not come as any surprise due the same fate befalling other social games recently.

EA wants fans of the soon to be offline games to know that they will be making a special offer to introduce you to a new PopCap game. They indicate that the details on the offer will appear in-game shortly.

As part of the press release EA wants to make sure that it is known that they will continue to deliver popular titles for Facebook, most notably games from PopCap, including Bejeweled Blitz, Solitaire Blitz and the recently-announced Plants vs. Zombies Adventures.

This announcement comes on the heels of EA being voted "The Worst Company in America" for the second year in row. Hopefully getting rid of these popular games doesn't set in motion the probability of EA hitting the trifecta.
