The new show has been in the works since January by South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, and looks to fuse music, comedy, celebrity guests, and fishing together with hosts Les Claypool, from Primus, and Micky Melchiondo aka “Dean Ween” for some on water antics.
Les Claypool just upped the pot by posting this status to his Facebook page: Do you wanna fish with Claypool and Deaner? If so, use your smartphone/Iphone and send us a close up video saying so, "I wanna fish with Claypool and Deaner!" is the phrase we are looking for. Be creative but try to keep it head or face shot and 5 seconds MAX. Email submission to ClaypoolDeanerFish@lesclaypool.com
"The idea is to get the show on after Anthony Bourdain or 'Tosh.O.' It's a fishing show that you do not have to be into fishing to enjoy," says Melchiondo former guitarist of the band Ween and lifelong Jersey Shore fisherman.
If you are not familiar with Primus, you might well be aware of Claypool himself, he authored the Southpark theme song, as well as his likeness being used in the opening credits.
