Blabbermouth reports that Los Angeles glam-metal jokesters STEEL PANTHER have entered the studio to begin recording their third full-length album for a late 2013 release. Drummer Stix Zadinia has completed tracking his drums for the as-yet-untitled CD, and according to a series of tweets from Zadinia, rhythm guitars are also done, with bassist Lexxi Foxxx next in line to lay down his parts.
The best way to describe Steel Panther is a live, 80s version of Spinal Tap. I have seen them live about 5 times and every show is different. It is part stand-up comedy, part really good musicianship and often many legends show up to perform a song with them. It is, however, quite easily rated R.
If you loved 80s metal and hair bands, or just thought it was ridiculous then I think you will get a kick out of it. I had to pick a video that I think displays them best and I tried to find something PG-13 but frankly the best song they have is rated r with some obvious simulation and language called Death To All But Metal. Its over the top and includes a cameo from Sarah Silverman.
So - if you are easily offended, have children, Christians or basically anyone around you right now then dont click play. You were warned. First f-bomb is at 49 seconds and it goes downhill from there. That's what they do.
