Today is National Hot Dog Day and no, I am not making that up as an excuse to eat hot dogs.
Thanks to all the food shows on television nowadays, I bumped into a recipe that was easy and delicious. Here’s the rub; it doesn't sound good to most. If you like hot dogs, then you need to trust me on this one.
Here is what you need:
- Hot dogs and hot dog rolls; obviously.
- Cheese. A pepper jack or some sort of somewhat spicy cheese might work well here.
- Pulled Pork. In Upstate NY we all use Dinosaur BBQ but to make it easy you can use any pulled pork that can be heated in the microwave.
The cheese and pulled pork are more choices depending on what you want; there's no wrong choice.
Make your hot dogs. Put a nice topping of pulled pork on top while hot and sprinkle your favorite cheese on so it can melt.
