Woman Sues Microsoft Over Unwanted Win10 Upgrade

Teri Goldstein got fed up with the constant Microsoft nagging to upgrade her computer to Windows 10 and sued Microsoft.

She was one of many users who are satisfied with Win7 or 8.1 and don't want to upgrade. However, Goldsteins system got upgraded without her authorization and she said it was so unstable that she could not use it for days at a time.

Goldstein, who operates a Californian travel agency, said her system was prone to crashing and when she contacted Microsoft support they were unable to assist her.

So, Goldstein sued Microsoft for lost wages and the cost of a new computer.

Goldstein took the company to court and when Microsoft dropped the appeals, she was awarded $10,000.

Microsoft changed the upgrade from an "optional upgrade" to a "Recommended Update". This has force Win10 on many unsuspecting users. However, Microsoft stands by its insistence that users have a month to roll back their systems if they are unhappy with the upgrade.
