Drive Dot Shield works by creating an "autorun.inf" folder on the drive root with a protection feature (most viruses do not remove this file).
If you aren't familiar, Autorun.inf is a computer virus that can replicate itself and infect external storage devices like flash drives and hard drives. It can infiltrate your system via the internet, USB drives, or third-party app installations. The "autorun.inf" file is not inherently harmful and is just a plain text file, but it can be used as a vehicle by malicious threat actors. Having protection for your devices will save you some aggravation in the long run.
