How to Enable or Disable Screen Edge Swipe in Windows 10 & 11

If your Windows 10 or 11 device has a touchscreen, you can swipe from the edge to open notifications or Widgets. If you don't like the swipe feature, it can be disabled in the registry or Group Policy Editor.

There is no setting to disable screen edge swipe, but we can access the hidden settings using the Registry or Group Policy Editor.

How to Enable or Disable Screen Edge Swipe in Windows 10 & 11 - Registry

Using our registry files is safe and simplifies the process.

Download Enable or Disable Screen Edge Swipe in Windows 10 & 11 from MajorGeeks, and extract the two files.

Double-click on Screen Edge Swipe - Disable.reg or Screen Edge Swipe - Enable (Default).

Click Yes when prompted by User Account Control.
Click Yes when prompted by Registry Editor.
Click OK when prompted by the Registry Editor.

A reboot might be required.

How to Enable or Disable Screen Edge Swipe in Windows 10 & 11 - Group Policy Editor

Windows 10 & 11 Home users will need to enable Group Policy Editor or use the registry method above.

Open the Group Policy Editor and navigate to:

Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Edge UI

Double-click or tap on Allow edge swipe.

Click on Enabled to disable Edge Screen Swipe.

Click on Disabled or Not configured to enable Screen Edge Swipe.
