How to Install or Uninstall TPM Diagnostics in Windows 11

By Timothy Tibbetts

on 06/22/2023

Windows 11 has a new app to get information about your TPM, or Trusted Platform Module, which is required to run Windows 11. TPM is a hardware chip to protect and store security keys and sensitive user data. TPM is available on most computers built after 2015.

At the time of this tutorial, TPM Diagnostics was not installed in Windows 11 by default.

Click on Start > Settings > Apps.

To uninstall TPM Diagnostics, scroll down, find TPM Diagnostics, and click on Uninstall.

To install TPM Diagnostics, click on Optional features.

Under Add an optional feature, click on View features.

Type in TPM in the search field at the top to show the TPM Diagnostics app.

Check the box next to TPM Diagnostics. You will see Installing.

You can find tpmdiagnostics.exe in Windows > System32. Open the Command Prompt or PowerShell and type in tpmdiagnostics.exe /? to get started.
