MSVCR71.dll is a file that is installed with the Visual C++ Redistributable. While it should have been installed for you, it doesn't always work that way.

The first thing to try is the official Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2019 Redistributable Package that is backward compatible with most apps and games. Watch the following video for more information.



If that fails, you most likely need an older version. In this case, we'd install Visual C++ Runtime Installer (All-In-One).

Whatever you do, don't download MSVCR71.dll from any internet site. Those always cause more trouble than they're worth.
