The Ultimate List of Rundll32 Commands for Windows 10/8/7

Rundll32.exe exists to run programs held in DLL files. While Microsoft originally designed rundll32 for internal use, it can also be used to create shortcuts to most Windows settings. Here's one big list of all the known rundll32 commands and how to set them up.

This list is similar to How to Create a Shortcut to Any Windows Settings if you can't find the setting you were looking for here.

To create a shortcut, right-click on your desktop and select New > Shortcut.

Next, you can either type in the address, or select Browse to find an executable and click on Next.

Finally, you can name the shortcut anything you like and click Finish. If you don't name the new shortcut, it will be called rundll32.exe by default.

If you want to place your new shortcut somewhere besides the Desktop, right-click on your new shortcut and Pin it to the taskbar or drag and drop the shortcut anywhere you want, like the Taskbar, for example.

Finally, we can change the icon to anything you like. Windows includes numerous icons already, or you can import your icons.

Right-click on your shortcut and select Properties. Click on the Shortcut tab and click on Change Icon... Note: In some cases, you'll need to click on the Web Document tab when there's no Shortcut tab.

Browse to your icon or enter C:\Windows\System32\shell32.dll to see all of the available icons included with Windows.

Click OK once you're finished.
