There is a known issue with slow SSD performance in Windows 11 beginning in November of 2021. Microsoft has released a fix. Here's how to check for or download the slow SSD fix.

It should fix the problem for most people and should be widely available.

You can check for updates first or check your update history for KB5007262.

Click on Start > Settings or press the Windows Key + I.

Click on Windows Update on the left.

Click on Update history on the right.

Look for KB5007262. If you see it, you're all set.

If not, go to https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=KB5007262.

Click on 2021-11 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 11 for x64-based Systems (KB5007262) or 2021-11 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 11 for ARM64-based Systems (KB5007262).

The website is not HTTPS compliant, so right-click and click on Save link as....

Finally, if the file is blocked (does anyone else find this hilarious coming from Microsoft?), click on the small arrow at the lower-left corner, and click Keep.

Right-click on the file you downloaded, and click Open. Follow the prompts to install.

If you're told that the update does not apply to your computer, it is already installed.
