360 NSA Cyber Weapons Defense Tool was designed as a defense against the in-the-wild NSA tools that utilize outdated Windows system exploits to lock up vulnerable PCs.
One exploit, in particular, codenamed EternalBlue, helped give malicious actors the ability to launch the now-infamous WannaCry ransomware. This tool rapidly scans your system for known exploits like EternalChampion, EternalRomance, EternalSynergy, ErraticGopher, EmeraldThread, EskimoRoll, EducatedScholar, EclipsedWing, EsteemAudit, etc. All these exploits have the potential to allow for the remote hijacking of a computer or worse.
Now, of course, you can simply (and strongly recommended) apply the Microsoft patches which we have conveniently grouped together, so you don't need to hunt them down. But as an added layer of protection for potential future attacks, allow 360 NSA Cyber Weapons Defense Tool to scan your machine and analyze for other vulnerabilities that may be lurking in the shadows. Another nice point with this tool is, it can be used offline as well.
It found a problem with our properly patched computer. What it didn't do was tell us what the problem is exactly. After "fixing the vulnerability", we noticed a "restore port" option. This leads us to believe that it closed port 445, a known vulnerability for spreading anything ExternalBlue. More details might be nice here, but for the paranoid, this can patch up any WannaCry (ExternalBlue) vulnerabilities. Odds are it will find the same open port on your computer.
