GraphStudioNext is a DirectShow graph editor. It's designed as an alternative to Microsoft Graph Edit in the Windows SDK with many additional features.

DirectShow is a Microsoft Windows multimedia streaming API. A DirectShow graph is a collection of connected multimedia components configured to achieve a particular multimedia processing task (e.g., media playback, capture, or conversion). A DirectShow graph editor such as Microsoft GraphEdit is a test environment and UI for creating and testing DirectShow graphs interactively. Once a graph has been tested in a graph editor, it can be created programmatically in a programming language such as C++ using the DirectShow API.

GraphStudioNext is a fork of RadScorpion's GraphStudio, which stopped updating in 2009. Because of some bugs and missing features, the author has continued it as GraphStudioNext.

It is also popular for codec users as GraphStudioNext will load your media files into a graphical interface and show you the codecs being used to render them. It will show you every DirectShow codec, filter, and post-processor in-between you and your files.
