MyCortana finally lets you rename Cortana to anything you like.

Cortana was originally the name used for a synthetic intelligence character in Microsoft's Halo video game franchise originating in Bungie folklore, with Jen Taylor, the character's voice actress, returning to voice the personal assistant's version. Now, I've played Halo a couple times, but it wasn't my thing and I certainly didn't know this. I guess you can dock me a geek card but still, I'd take Siri or Alexa any day of the week.

If you hate it as well, then here's your chance to name Cortana whatever you like. It only takes a few minutes to run and setup this portable app. Pick your name, briefly tell it to recognize your new name and you're done. It's that simple.

MyCortana could still use some work. It does tend to occasionally open when it thinks it heard the new name but overall it gets the job done.
