Reset Data Usage allows you to reset the Windows 10 built-in network usage monitor.
Those who have limited bandwidth plans are often forced to find a program to monitor their bandwidth consumption. Windows 10 attempts to fix this problem, but at the time this app was released, there was no way to reset your usage.
You can go to Settings, Network & Internet, Data usage and view your current monthly usage, however, there is no way to reset it. Most people want to reset it on the first of the month or whenever their 30-day plan start over. This is where Reset Data Usage comes in.
Reset Data Usage is portable and includes both 32-Bit and 64-Bit executables, and they are portable, so no installation is needed. Just extract wherever you like and create a shortcut to ResetDu.exe or ResetDu_x64.exe and run it as needed. Once running, just click on “Reset Data Usage, ” and that's it. No need to reboot or log off.
Under Menu, you will also find CMD support. Reset Data Usage also offers CMD support. Use the correct, supported parameters as seen in the third screenshot below. The CMD parameters are useful, for example, to automate the reset process via task scheduler so you can set it and forget it.
The available commands are:
/R - Reset data usage
/L - Launch data usage
So, for example here are all available commands to use, without quotes:
"ResetDu.exe /R" to reset data usage on 32-Bit systems
"ResetDu.exe /L" to Launch Windows 10 data usage on 32-Bit systems
"ResetDu_x64.exe /R" to reset data usage on 64-Bit systems
"ResetDu_x64.exe /L"to Launch Windows 10 data usage on 64-Bit systems
Reset Data Usage is small, free, and addresses the issue of monitoring your monthly bandwidth usage perfectly.
