NoVirusThanks USB Capture installs as a service that can capture and copy all files and folders from a USB drive to a local folder as soon as it's plugged in.
NoVirusThanks USB Capture runs as a service. To install, you want to extract all of the files to a folder of your choice. It will create a folder called USBCapture. Dig down to Service, 32-bit (or 64-bit), USBCaptureSvc. Right-click on install.bat and Run as administrator. You will also notice an uninstall.bat. Hopefully, that's self-explanatory. A command prompt Windows will appear and let you know if it installed correctly and, if not, show you any errors.
Once you plug in any USB drive, it will automatically copy all files and folders to your hard drive. A log file is generated and cleared every 30 days. One downside is there isn't always a message that it completed but that's a limitation of how Windows handles "safely eject."
Whether you just want to create a backup of your USB drives or monitor if someone plugged something in while you were away, USB Capture is an easy-to-use set-it-and-forget-it.
