Windows 10 & 11 Changes Your Default Web Browser

Windows 10 has been known to change your default web browser. There are numerous reasons for your web browser default to change, but only a few ways to make sure your browser of choice is the default browser.
One of the biggest problems is Windows 10 wants you to use the Chromium-based Microsoft Edge. While the old Microsoft Web browsers are considered a joke, Microsoft Edge is an excellent choice. Regardless of your browser preference, let's fix the problem.

Windows 10 Changes Your Default Web Browser - Default Apps Settings
The Default apps setting allows you to choose what app opens your websites, videos, music, maps, emails, photo viewer, and more.
Click Start > Settings > Apps.
Click on Default apps on the left.
Click on the current default web browser.
Choose your preferred web browser.

Click Start > Settings > Apps.
Click on Default apps on the left.
Click on Choose default apps by file type.
Locate both .htm and .HTML.
Click on the current default web browser.
Choose your preferred web browser.
That should cover most websites, but you can change a few others if the problem continues on some websites.
Those include .mht, .mhtml, .pdf, .shtm, .shtml, .svg, .webm, .webp, .website, .xht, .xhtml, .XML, .xsl, or any extension that's not opening the correct web browser.

Similarly, you can also click Set default by apps where you clicked on Choose default apps by file type above.
Click on your web browser and click Manage.
Look for anywhere that shows a different web browser than you want.
Click on the current default app.
Choose your preferred web browser.
