What Does DW Mean?

DW is used in all sorts of communications, including social media, text messages, and more. Here's what it means.
DW is the acronym for Don't Worry
DW can be used in lower or uppercase and even the occasional d/w or d.w.
Urban Dictionary didn't list DW until 2003, but, like many acronyms, it dates back to the '90s when it was used in bulletin boards, IRC, and other communication methods of the early internet.
Like most internet acronyms, it has other uses in niche places. For example, DW might mean dear wife, darling wife, or even referring to Doctor Who. That might be acceptable, but DW means Don't Worry 99% of the time.
This is one I never use because if I don't want someone to worry, I take the time to spell it out.
