The internet is full of acronyms, and ISWYDT or ICWYDT is a classic one you might come across in conversations with friends, family, or colleagues.
ISWYDT or ICWYDT means "I see what you did there
The use of ISWYDT or ICWYDT is a way to acknowledge that you got, or recognized, the joke.
The correct usage is ISWYDT, but many people will replace the S (see) with C using internet slang. You might see ICWYDT less frequently because some spell-checking apps will automatically correct ICWYDT to ISWYDT. You might also see OICWYDT or "Oh, I see what you did there."
The television show Friends gets the credit for ISWYDT in 1996 when Phoebe responded in a condescending tone to Joey, “Oh, ok, I see what you did there. Over the next couple of years. Within two years, ISWYDT appeared on Usenet groups, and the rest is history with advancements in the internet and smartphones.
As time progressed, thousands, if not millions of memes became available that use ISWYDT, and oftentimes they spell out the words. Sometimes you can mix or match one that works for Caturday.
