What is Content Hash Verifier?
Content Hash Verifier helps you ensure the integrity of decrypted files stored on Blu-ray or Ultra HD discs. By checking the content hash of BD or UHD files, you can determine whether the raw M2TS files on the disk have been altered.
From the Command Line
This application operates via a Command Line interface and features a user-friendly syntax and a minimal set of options, making it easy to use for anyone looking to verify file integrity.
Content Hash Verifier Usage:
content-hash-verifier [switch] [iso or folder]
● Switch:
-a abort on mismatch hash
-h help
-? help
-nologo suppress copyright message
-k[file] specify keydb.cfg location
-p show progress
-v verbose output
● Example:
content-hash-verifier d:\avatar\
content-hash-verifier "-kd:\keydb.cfg" d:\avatar_decrypted\
To use Content Hash Verifier, simply provide the disc root path as an argument. The application will begin verifying the disc's content hash, displaying matches in green and mismatches in red for easy identification.
Content Hash Verifier Features:
● Verify the content hash of an ISO file
● Verify the content hash of a folder
● Verify the content hash of a drive
● The GUI version of Content Hash Verifier can verify the content hash of decrypted .m2ts files and supports drag n' drop files. If the Content Hash cannot be verified, the M2TS sync byte (0x47) will be checked
GUI Option Available in Xreveal
For those uncomfortable working from the Command Line, there is a GUI version included in Xreveal. To access it, right-click Content Hash Verifier in the Xreveal tray menu. Xreveal will attempt to restore AACS protection and CCI protection before verifying the content hash. If the content hash cannot be verified, the m2ts sync byte (0x47) will be checked.
Raw File Evaluation
Content Hash Verifier calculates SHA-1 checksums for Blu-ray discs and SHA-256 checksums for UHD content. It specifically evaluates the raw files located in the /BDMV/STREAM/*.m2ts directory. Additionally, Content Hash Verifier presents the total number of files assessed, along with the counts of matched and unmatched files. The elapsed time for the verification process is also displayed in the command line window.
Note that although the package does not include a UDF parser, you can still verify the hash of an ISO file by passing the mounting path as a parameter.
Geek Verdict
Content Hash Verifier helps you safeguard the integrity of your decrypted files stored on Blu-ray and Ultra HD discs, ensuring your precious data remains secure and intact.
