Counter-Strike 2D is much like the original Counter-Strike game by Valve Software but with a 2D top-down perspective.

We have played Counter-Strike since it was a free Half-Life mod in beta back around 1999 but have not played in years. We wasted countless hours playing the game and often even the same map over and over for hours. Usually de_dust or de_dust_2. So, it’s been a while. Imagine our surprise seeing a 2D, top-down version of the game. And it’s perfect. It’s all there. Sounds, weapons, internet play, servers, bots, chat, friends lists, complaints about hackers, you name it. I don’t think you need my recommendation here if you have played Counter-Strike before because that means you have to check it out. If you like top-down games (we rarely do) or Counter-Strike, then you won’t be disappointed, at least for a little bit. Extract the files and run the executable. Counter-Strike 2D should be in any Counter-Strike fans game collection.

The initial idea of Counter-Strike 2D was to create a game that is pretty much like the original Counter-Strike game by Valve® Software but which is 2D in a top-down perspective. This goal has been reached by implementing all original Counter-Strike weapons with their original sounds, by adding the well-known hostage rescue (CS) and bomb defuse (DE) scenarios (+the VIP (AS) mode which has been removed from the original Counter-Strike already) and finally by creating 2D versions of the most popular Counter-Strike maps.
