DataNumen Disk Image is a free tool to create and restore disk or drive images. It can clone and restore the raw data of the disk or drive byte by byte. Video tutorial available.

The interface is a bit dated, but that rarely stops us when an application does what it's supposed to do. It's pretty easy to figure out how to select a disk to clone and where to save. Likewise, reversing the process to restore the image is just as simple.

Since it can clone even from corrupted media, it has a chance of coming back later and trying to recover lost files in case your drive fails, for example.

However, it does lack any way to create bootable media to restore a drive that you can't boot from. This isn't a problem unless your computer won't boot into Windows.
