DesktopPic allows you to display or stamp images on your Windows desktop wallpaper.
DeskTopPic offers a unique way to display images by providing a seamless slideshow experience. When images are showcased, only the visuals are presented—free from distracting elements such as borders or title bars.
Additionally, the application allows you to edit your wallpaper directly via a "stamp" feature that runs without any background processes; you can easily restore the previous wallpaper with a single click. This feature works particularly well with images that have transparent backgrounds, creating an impressive effect.
The software is designed for ease of use and is available as a zip file for portable installation (MajorGeeks Download), making it accessible to "standard" users without administrator privileges. An .exe installer is also provided for those who require it.
To get started with DeskTopPic as a portable app, simply extract the contents of the zip file and double-click on DesktopPic.exe. An example slideshow will automatically initiate. You can then access a user-friendly interface by double-clicking on any slideshow image, from which they can select personal image folders and customize various slideshow options. The app includes a Stamp button for applying images directly onto the wallpaper across any display.
The slideshow is controlled using the Play button to continue or exit if they prefer to use only the stamp feature. Navigation through the slideshow is facilitated by left and right arrow keys, the spacebar, backspace, and Enter key, enabling multiple runs of different slideshows on any monitor setup.
DesktopPic Features:
● DesktopPic always maintains the original picture's aspect ratio.
● DesktopPic does not do a full-screen slideshow (that capability is already built into Windows 7 and above).
● The Stamp feature provides the same result as if you edited your wallpaper using an image editing program. It just makes the process easier and more fun (and easier to undo).
● The Slideshow and Stamp features are multi-monitor aware.
● Supports most image formats. See the author's site for details.
● Provides smart corner placement of slideshows.
● Supports crossfading of slideshow images.
