FlexiWordle is similar to the popular Wordle game but with four levels, 4,5,6, or 7 letter words, to make it a little more challenging.

The author notes that Wordle has become a world phenomenon with several offshoots and look-alikes appearing on the internet. He is an admirer and regular user of Wordle, which inspired this app.

Unlike Wordle, FlexiWordle can be reset with a new word at any time. It can also be created with an initial starter word in the grid. FlexiWordle utilizes the Free Scrabble Dictionary with four extracted text files, 4,5,6, and 7wordlist.txt. The required file is loaded into the app when created or changed by the challenge level. All text files must be in the same folder as the .exe file. It is Unicode, so it should accept words in a different language, though the text file names must not be changed.

FlexiWordle consists of an upper grid of six rows and a single row grid under it. There is a popup menu on the right button. There is a timer at the bottom.
FlexiWordle is, in principle, the same as Wordle, characters in the right place are dark green, and those in the wrong place are light green. Unused characters are unmarked.

Using FlexiWordle:

Type a word, and the characters will appear in the bottom grid as you type. Press the RETURN key to process that word. Only if the word is in the dictionary will it be loaded into the top grid and the letters marked up.

The grid can be reset with or without a starter word - see the popup menu. The starter word is randomly selected from the dictionary.
The game can be played with or without sound - see the popup menu.

If desperate, there is an option to get a hint - see the popup menu. A single random letter from the word will be shown in the bottom grid. NOTE: 30-secs will be added to the timer for each hint.

If the game is given up, it will end with the word shown in the top grid - and 100 secs added to the timer.
If you are proud of your success, use 'Snap a copy' to place a copy of the completed game on the clipboard.
