Extension Support and More
Supermium Portable allows users to browse the internet on systems that would otherwise fail to connect to popular websites. In addition to supporting up-to-date extensions and syncing with Google's services out of the box, the app also lets you revert to the older trapezoidal tab shape and re-implements compatibility with Windows Vista and 7's Aero Glass-styled title bars for a more coherent layout.

For those who miss the design of older operating systems, Supermium Portable can provide a brief return to the past, making internet browsing a more enjoyable experience.

There are a few details to note before using Supermium Portable:

Passwords Not Saved Between PCs By Default: Supermium Portable stores passwords in an encrypted format tied to the current PC. While the passwords are not kept or left behind on the PC itself, they won't be retrievable when you move to a new PC. Logging in to Google will save and restore your passwords.

Certificates Not Portable: Supermium Portable has no certificate manager. It uses Windows' certificates manager. So, any certificates installed through its interface are stored on the current local machine and will not travel with you. Thus, it would be best if you did not use any private certificates with Supermium except on your own PC.

Some Settings/Extensions Locked Per PC: Supermium Portable locks specific settings to a given PC. Details are included in this post. The Chrome team designed this behavior. If you would like this changed, please file a bug with the Chrome team. A suggested workaround is to sign in to Google to restore all settings and extensions.

Please note that other portable browsers, such as Mozilla Firefox Portable Edition, do not have any of the issues mentioned above. Due to Chrome's design, these issues are specific to Chrome and Chromium-based browsers and cannot be worked around without fixes to the base app by the Chrome developers.
