How to Fix Printer Error 0x000007d1

Error 0x000007d1 is a printer error that often appears after a Windows Update. The full error message might read, "Operation could not be completed (error 0x000007d1). The specified driver is invalid." In this tutorial, we show you the possible solutions.
Currently, we know of three possible fixes. Error 0x000007d1 can appear anytime, but often after a Windows Update.
1: Verify Windows Didn't Take Over Your Printer
There's a good possibility that Windows Updated and took over your printer drivers, so let's check one setting, then update your drivers.
Click Start > Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
Uncheck Let Windows manage my default printer.

2: Update Drivers
Next, let's update, or reinstall your printer drivers.
Be sure to go to your printer manufacturer and get the latest drivers. While the error can happen with any printer, Brother seems to have been the most affected.

3: Delete a Registry Key
As always, Open the Registry Editor and navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlPrint
If you see a key named PostSPUpgrade, right-click and click on Delete.
