Microsoft has begun phasing out the Control Panel with the Windows 10 October 2020 Update. While you can still access the Control Panel, eventually, it will be gone. Sort of.

Most of the articles you've read are letting everyone know that Microsoft is removing the Control Panel when it appears they are moving the majority of it to Settings and eventually getting rid of anything that is no longer useful in Windows 10.

Video tutorial:

While the location might change eventually, you can find many of the Control Panel settings by clicking on Start > Settings > System > About.

Scroll down and find Related Settings.

Currently, you can access:

  • BitLocker settings (Requires Windows 10 Pro)
  • Device Manager
  • Remote desktop (Requires Windows 10 Pro)
  • System protection (System properties)
  • Advanced system settings (System properties)
  • Rename this PC (System properties)
  • Graphic settings (Windows 10 settings page)

Go ahead and click on any of them, but currently, most of the links open the classic System Properties page from the Control Panel.

You can still open the Control Panel by pressing the Windows Key + S, type in, and click on Control Panel.
