How to Show or Change Color on Title Bars and Borders in Windows 10 & 11
By Timothy Tibbetts |
If you spend any time changing themes or colors on your Windows 10 computer, you might appreciate being able to change the colors of your title bars and borders.
We often applied a theme and found the title bar and border colors too much or too little. For example, here is File Explorer with a grey color used. Changing the title bar and borders will change all applications' colors, including your email, web browser, etc.
Click on Start > Settings > Personalization. Click on Colors.
Scroll down to Show accent colors on the following surfaces.
Check or uncheck the box next to Title bars and windows borders.
To choose a color, you have four choices.
Automatically pick an accent color from my background. Click this to see if Windows can automatically pick a color for you.
Recent colors. Choose from a recently used color.
Windows colors. See if you like any of the available default colors.
Custom color. Custom color is our favorite choice. Try and find a color from one of the two options mentioned above. Now, click on Custom color.
The best part about Custom color is you can choose a color from any of the first three steps, then quickly slide the bar to change the color slightly to get exactly what you want.
There is a live preview at the bottom as you move the slider left or right.
Look for the More option with an error to expand and enter your RGB or HTML numbers.
