How to Disable Window Shadows in Windows 10 & 11
By Timothy Tibbetts |
Windows 10, by default, shows a shadow around many applications. You might not notice it if using a dark theme, or hardly notice it even on white colors.
Here's an example against a white background. You can disable Windows Shadows, thereby not wasting the resources for something you might have never noticed.
We've found that shadows are handy when using light colors.
Press the Windows Key + S and begin typing in advanced system settings, and click on View advanced system settings.
Click on Settings in the Performance section under the Advanced tab.
Scroll down and uncheck Show shadows under windows.
Click on OK.
You can browse other Visual Effects options or even choose from the defaults (What's best for your computer, best appearance, best performance).
