This ransomware strain encrypts user files with the Chacha20 cipher, but now with Avast's Decryption Tool for TargetCompany, victims can decrypt their files for free.
The TargetCompany ransomware appends file names to the following:
● .mallox
● .exploit
● .architek
● .brg
● .carone
TargetCompany also drops a ransom note inside each folder with at least one encrypted file. The ransom note is titled RECOVERY INFORMATION.txt; see the example note below:
