Cliqz is a Firefox-based web browser that focuses on being safe and fast especially with privacy and anonymity.

Like most Firefox-based browsers, Cliqz retains the look and feel of Firefox with obvious changes.

The biggest difference is the Cliqz Control Panel. There you can find anti-tracking and ad-blocking complete with statistics. You can enable or disable anti-phishing and prefer HTTPS.

Search options are numerous including what search engine, block adult websites, proxies, transparency monitor, and more.

Overall we like what we saw with Cliqz, but we do have some issues with them. Data collection is on by default but obvious to turn off at the bottom of the browser. The homepage is CLiqz. Finally, we see CLiqz offers on the tab menu. You can't do these things while promising privacy and security. These are a few things we're looking to avoid when downloading a browser like this. That said, these can all be disabled, we just felt it was unnecessary. Had they asked and explained this during installation, we might have considered some or all. Clicking through to get details on Cliqz Offers leads to a page that explains that the offers are done via a proxy so you can shop anonymously. Meh.

Cliqz is Firefox with an additional layer of security, anti-phishing, and more for security-conscious Firefox users.
