This little Chrome extension will effectively block videos from playing entirely as well as stop autoplay videos before they even start. It has happened to us many times; jump over to a page, and a loud video starts playing, scaring you half to death. Annoying, to say the least. Video Blocker takes care of this for you.

Video Blocker will prevent all web videos from automatically playing on pages. You can whitelist specific domains like youtube.com where you want videos to play. There is also the option to enable a single video by clicking on the video directly.

Once you have started blocking, the video gets an overlay with the play button ceasing to function. Within that overlay is a clickable link permitting you to allow that video to play again.
