How to Change the Default Email Notification Sound on Windows 10 & 11
By Timothy Tibbetts |
If you are bored with your email notification sound or would like something new and different, you can easily choose or use your own sound.
If you want to use your own sound, you need a WAV file. The default save folder is C:\Windows\Media, but you can save the WAV anywhere you like. Many websites offer free WAV files, including The Sound Archive.
Open the Control Panel and click on Sounds.
Click on the Sounds tab.
Scroll down, and click on New Mail Notification.
You can click on the dropdown box to choose from available sounds, or click on Browse... to select from any location if you downloaded a WAV file.
Click Test to hear the sound and click OK when satisfied.
