There are many articles out there over ten years old, where people ask how to reset Facebook to the default settings. In typical Facebook fashion, there is no magical "Reset defaults" option, and Facebook has so far ignored our requests to add this option. Here's what you can do.

Like everything else on Facebook (deleting posts, removing old tags), everything needs to be done step-by-step. And you wonder why people create new accounts. We've also added some related tutorials at the bottom of this article.

Click on Settings.

Unlike the PC, mobile devices will find most of what they need in Settings & privacy. There are still a lot of categories, but Facebook spends more time making mobile devices easier to use.

PC users need to dig a little deeper. Click Settings > New Feed Preferences and then look around the following sections:

Privacy
Blocking
Notifications
Public posts
Timeline and tagging
