How to Use the Graphing Calculator in Windows 10

By Timothy Tibbetts

on 06/15/2023

A graphing calculator is capable of plotting graphs, solving simultaneous equations, and performing other tasks with variables. Most of us currently use a third-party app or online graphing calculator, but Microsoft is adding a graphing calculator to the Windows 10 Calculator for free.

At the time of this tutorial, you must be running the Preview build or Build 19546 or later of Windows 10. Preview builds are for those who feel comfortable previewing upcoming Windows builds are not for less experienced Windows users or in a production environment. We have been stuck updating to the latest preview build, so we are unable to take a screenshot of the Calculator app.

The graphing calculator should be available in the next Feature update in early 2020 or now in the Fast Ring for Insiders.

If you can't wait for the new Graphing Calculator, be sure to check out the free, online Desmos Graphing Calculator.

To opt into the Preview builds go to Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Insider Program.

Go to the Windows Store and download or update your calculator.
