Mouse acceleration, or pointer precision, allows you to quickly move your mouse to the other side of the screen when you quickly move it three inches. Mouse acceleration is on by default in Windows 10 and 11, but here's how to enable or disable it.

Video tutorial:

Because the mouse acceleration settings are buried in the Control Panel, the easiest way to access it is to press the Windows Key + S, type in, and click on Mouse Settings.

On Windows 10, click on Additional mouse settings on the right. On Windows 11, click on Mouse on the right, then Additional mouse settings.

Click on the Pointer Options tab.

Check or uncheck the box next to Enhance pointer precision.
