How to Create a Printers Folder Shortcut

If you frequently use your printers, you might be interested in adding a Printer shortcut to your desktop, which can then be moved to the Start Menu, Taskbar, and more.

Many printers will automatically add a printer shortcut to your desktop, but this shortcut will open all printers in one location.

You can download our shortcut or create your own.

How to Create a Printers Folder Shortcut - Download Shortcut

Download Printers Folder Shortcut.

Extract Check for Printers.Lnk from the zip file and copy and paste it anywhere you want.

Click or double-click the shortcut to open Printers.



You can right-click on the shortcut and Pin to Taskbar, Pin to Start, or drag the icon to your Desktop.

How to Create a Printers Folder Shortcut - Create a Shortcut

Right-click on your Desktop and click New > Shortcut.

Windows will accept any one of four different codes. Enter any one of these and click Next:

explorer shell:::{863aa9fd-42df-457b-8e4d-0de1b8015c60}
rundll32.exe shell32.dll,SHHelpShortcuts_RunDLL PrintersFolder


Name your shortcut and click Finish.

You can also customize your shortcut with a different icon by right-clicking on the new shortcut and click Properties, and then click on Change icon.
