What Does SMH Mean?

SMH is an internet acronym that most people have seen (even if you didn't know it) yet might not know what it means.
Acronyms are abbreviations of words used to cut down on the time it takes to type. Acronyms are often typed and easier to understand when typed in capital letters.
There's no shame in seeing an acronym you don't recognize, and it's happened to everybody (or it eventually will).
SMH means “Shaking My Head”
SMH is used when you shake your head in disbelief, usually when responding to someone who missed an obvious point. So, any time you might shake your head, you can use SMH.
Some people might also call SMH "Shake My Head."
SMH is frequently used everywhere because the shaking head has evolved into animated GIFs and memes that are often readily available and used on social media. No one seems sure of the origin, so tell everyone that it was my idea.
SMH, like many acronyms, can be used as lowercase or uppercase.
