R-Linux is an effective utility that recovers lost files from logical disks.

Comprehensive File Recovery
R-Linux is a comprehensive and free file recovery utility specifically developed for the Ext2, Ext3, and Ext4 file systems, commonly utilized in Linux operating systems and several Unix variants. This tool leverages an advanced feature known as IntelligentScan technology, shared with R-Studio, to optimize the file recovery process. With its flexible parameter settings, R-Linux is capable of performing swift and dependable data recovery on Linux and Windows, making it an essential tool for users seeking to retrieve lost files.

Retrieve Data
It efficiently retrieves data even when file records have been damaged or deleted. With its user-friendly interface, R-Linux allows users to easily navigate the recovery process, making it suitable for both novice and experienced users. The application supports many file systems, ensuring it can recover files from various storage devices, including hard drives, USB flash drives, and memory cards.

Two R-Linux Variants
One is for Linux, and the other is for Windows. They have the same features and differ only in their host OS.

Local Data Recovery
However, it is essential to note that R-Linux has certain limitations compared to its counterpart, R-Studio. Specifically, R-Linux does not have the capability to recover data over a network, which means that recovery operations must be conducted directly on the local machine. Additionally, it lacks the functionality to reconstruct RAID configurations, a critical feature for users managing multiple drives in a RAID setup. Lastly, R-Linux does not support the creation of object copies, which are helpful for data backups or migrations. Despite these limitations, R-Linux remains a powerful option for local file recovery in Linux environments.

Multiple Recovery Scenarios
R-Linux is capable of recovering files lost due to various reasons, such as virus attacks, power failures, or system crashes. It can assist in situations where a partition containing important files has been reformatted, damaged, or deleted. Additionally, if the partition structure on a disk is altered or corrupted, R-Linux can scan the disk to locate previously existing partitions and restore files from them.

Bad Sectors
In cases where disks have bad sectors, R-Linux can first create an image file of the entire disk or a selected portion and then process that image file. This approach is particularly beneficial when new bad sectors continually appear on the disk, as it allows for the immediate preservation of the remaining data.

R-Linux allows you to rescue your files without much hassle. It provides a valuable option to create a backup of your target disk before you begin recovery, ensuring your data is safe. It also features memory control functionality and lets you fill bad blocks with a custom pattern, giving you complete control over your data recovery experience.

R-Linux Features:

● Standard Windows Explorer style interface.
● Host OS: Linux, kernel 2.6 and above
● Supported file systems: Ext2/Ext3/Ext4 FS (Linux) only.
● Recognition and parsing Dynamic (Windows 2000/XP/Vista/Win7), Basic, GPT, and BSD (UNIX) partitions layout schema and Apple partition map. Dynamic partitions over GPT are supported, as well as dynamic partitions over MBR.
● Creates image files for an entire hard drive, logical disk, or its part. Such image files can be processed like regular disks. Images can be either simple, exact object copies (Plain images) compatible with the old versions of R-Linux or compressed images that can be compressed, split into several parts, and password-protected. Such images are fully compatible with the images created by R-Drive Image but incompatible with the old versions of R-Linux.
● Recognizes localized names.
● Recovered files can be saved on any (including network) disks accessible by the host operating system.
● S.M.A.R.T. attribute monitoring. R-Linux can display S.M.A.R.T. (Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology) attributes for hard drives to show their hardware health and predict possible failures. If S.M.A.R.T. warnings appear, any unnecessary work with such hard drives should be avoided.
● Search for deleted file versions. R-Linux can search for deleted file versions using their sizes, names, extensions, and recognized file types as search parameters.
