ShutdownPerformanceView: Detailed Shutdown Process Data

ShutdownPerformanceView is a Windows app designed to provide you with detailed performance metrics regarding the system shutdown process. This tool helps in analyzing the time taken for shutdown and can be useful in diagnosing any delays or issues that may arise during this process.

ShutdownPerformanceView Utilizes Microsoft-Windows-Diagnostics-Performance/Operational Event Log

ShutdownPerformanceView utilizes data from the Microsoft-Windows-Diagnostics-Performance/Operational event log to analyze and display detailed information about the shutdown process of a Windows operating system. For each recorded shutdown performance event, it presents crucial metrics, including the Shutdown Start Time, which marks when the shutdown process begins, and the Shutdown End Time, indicating when the system has fully powered down. Additionally, it calculates the total Shutdown Time, providing insights into how long the shutdown process took.

Easy-To-Read Table

ShutdownPerformanceView also breaks down the shutdown duration into various components, such as User Session Time, which reflects the time spent terminating active user sessions; User Profiles Time, which accounts for the time taken to save user profile configurations; and Services Time, detailing the duration required to stop system services.

Works With Local and Remote Machines

Users can access shutdown performance information not only on their local machine but also on remote computers within their network, making it a versatile tool for system administrators looking to optimize performance across multiple systems. It also enables the loading of shutdown performance data from external event log files, providing flexibility in reviewing historical records and conducting in-depth analyses of shutdown behaviors over time. This comprehensive insight can help identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies in the shutdown process, ultimately leading to enhanced system performance and a better user experience.

ShutdownPerformanceView Supports Command-Line Options:

  • /stext Save the shutdown performance records to a simple text file.
  • /stab Save the shutdown performance records to a tab-delimited text file.
  • /scomma Save the shutdown performance records to a comma-delimited text file (CSV).
  • /shtml Save the shutdown performance records to HTML5 file (Horizontal).
  • /sverhtml Save the shutdown performance records to HTML5 file (Vertical).
  • /sxml Save the shutdown performance records to an XML file.
  • /sjson Save the shutdown performance records to a JSON file.
  • /sort This command-line option can be used with other save options for sorting by the desired column. The parameter can specify the column index (0 for the first column, 1 for the second column, and so on) or the name of the column, like "Record ID" and "Shutdown Time". You can specify the '~' prefix character (e.g: "~Shutdown Time") if you want to sort in descending order. You can put multiple /sort in the Command-Line if you want to sort by multiple columns.
  • /cfg Start ShutdownPerformanceView with the specified config file.
  • /Columns Allows you to set the columns to display or the columns to export from Command-Line. You have to specify the column names, delimited by comma.
    Example:
ShutdownPerformanceView.exe /scomma c:\temp\shutdown-performance.csv /Columns "Record ID,Shutdown Start Time,Shutdown End Time,Shutdown Time" You can also specify the column names without space characters.
    Example:
    ShutdownPerformanceView.exe /Columns "RecordID,ShutdownStartTime,ShutdownEndTime,ShutdownTime"

    Geeks Verdict

ShutdownPerformanceView provides a thorough examination of performance metrics related to the system shutdown process. It empowers you to analyze and understand the intricacies of shutdown operations, providing remarkable clarity in your grasp of their efficiency and timing.
