Trend Micro ID Protection (formerly Trend Micro Check) for Google Chrome, WhatsApp, and Messenger helps protect you from malicious websites, block ads, and keep your social media accounts safe.

Installation, as usual, only takes a minute, as with most extensions.

When installing, you have to agree to send some data, which is not unusual for a security app trying to watch the websites you visit. Of course, this information varies from country to country, depending on the laws.

After installation, you will see a few pages to explain the extension.

Once you visit a website, click the extension icon (jigsaw puzzle) to see details, including if a website is safe (you can also report a website), how many ads were blocked ("reported number was too high), and you can send feedback if the results were helpful.

At the time of our review, Trend Micro ID Protection didn't push other Trend products, which pleasantly surprised us.
