How to Remove or Restore Previous Versions From Context Menu and Properties
By Timothy Tibbetts |
Windows 10 offers a feature to restore a previous version of files, folders, and drives when possible with a Restore Point, File History, or Windows backup. If you never use this option, removing it from the Context Menu and Properties tab can clean things up and prevent others from using this feature.
Because more registry changes are made than usual, be sure to back up your registry first.
Here are some examples:
Download Disable or Enable Wide Context Menus in Windows 10 from MajorGeeks and extract the two files:
Remove Previous Versions Properties Context Menu.reg
Restore Previous Versions Properties Context Menu.reg (Default)
Double-click Remove Previous Versions Properties Context Menu.reg or Restore Previous Versions Properties Context Menu.reg to disable or enable App Launch Tracking.
Click Yes when prompted by User Account Control.
Click Yes when prompted by Registry Editor.
Click OK when prompted by the Registry Editor.
This tweak is included as part of MajorGeeks Registry Tweaks.
