How to Turn Optimizations for Windowed Games On or Off in Windows 11

Microsoft has introduced Optimization for Windows Games in Windows 11. If you're having lag or latency issues, you can try to enable or disable Optimization for Windows Games if you are playing your games in Windowed mode.
This new feature is only available in Windows 11 build 22557 or later and affects presentation modes used in Windowed and Borderless Windowed DirectX 10 and DirectX 11 games. You can read more about it on the Microsoft website.
You can turn Optimizations for Windowed Games on or off using our registry files or in Settings.

Download Turn Optimizations for Windowed Games On or Off in Windows 11 from MajorGeeks and extract the two files.
Double-click on Windowed Game Optimizations - OFF.reg or Windowed Game Optimizations - On.reg.
Click Yes when prompted by User Account Control.
Click Yes when prompted by Registry Editor.
Click OK when prompted by the Registry Editor.

How to Turn Optimizations for Windowed Games On or Off in Windows 11 - Settings
Click on Start > Settings or press the Windows Key + I.
Click on Display on the right, then click on Graphics.
Click on Change default graphic settings.
Under Optimizations for windowed games, turn the setting on or off.
You can also change the settings for individual games by clicking the game name and clicking on Options.
Check or uncheck Don't use optimizations for windowed games for that game.
