AlphaComps KeyViewer is a classic freeware app to retrieve your Windows and Office product key as well as decode the RawKey from your DigitalProductId.

We mention this is a classic app because it was initially designed to retrieve product keys from through Windows 7. The app was last available in 2004, just a few years after MajorGeeks was started and we admit that we never heard of it. Sadly, we had no luck getting our Windows 10 product key, most likely due to registry changes, but that isn't why we posted AlphaComps KeyViewer, although some people may find it useful retrieving keys from an older operating system that other apps don't.

Where it might come in more handy is decoding RawKey from your DigitalProductId. Decoding from DigitalProductId could retrieve any lost product keys that use the same format as Windows, Halo and Microsoft Office, for example. You can find the key with your id at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersion.

If you're after your Windows or Office key, it will retrieve it if available. AlphaComps KeyViewer can also display the OS version, installation date, product id and product key.

At this point, AlphaComps KeyViewer is excellent if other key viewers fail on an older operating system or to decode the RawKey from your DigitalProductId. Remember that AlphaComps KeyViewer has been abandoned so clicking any links within the program will take you to a parked domain, and that can be risky.
