How to Restore Missing Hibernate Options in Control Panel
By Timothy Tibbetts |
Hibernate is a power-saving option that saves your computer's current running state to your hard drive before going to sleep. In some cases, you might find hibernate missing from the Control Panel or power options.
Many modern computers using UEFI firmware will not show Hibernate using these steps, but you can use MajorGeeks registry files.
All operating systems can open the Control Panel > Power options > Choose what the power button does.
Windows 10 users can click Start > Settings > System> Power & sleep > Additional power settings > Choose what the power button does.
Open the Command Prompt as Administrator.
Type in the following two lines, and press Enter after each:
powercfg /hibernate on
powercfg /h /type full
Reboot your computer.
