How to Fix IRQL NOT DISPATCH LEVEL 0x00000008 Blue Screen

The IRQL NOT DISPATCH LEVEL error can appear when installing or updating Windows and is often due to a hard drive or driver problem.
The full error message reads:
A Problem with has been detected, and Windows has shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
IRQL_NOT_DISPATCH_LEVEL, Error code 0x00000008
Because you're facing a Blue Screen, you may need to boot into Safe Mode to troubleshoot.
1: IRQL NOT DISPATCH LEVEL 0x00000008 - Troubleshooter
Microsoft has an online Blue Screen Troubleshooter. It's geared towards the average user but might be helpful at any skill level.
The online troubleshooter can also help diagnose:

2: IRQL NOT DISPATCH LEVEL 0x00000008 - Free Up Hard Drive Space
If you know your hard drive is running out of space, that can cause the 0x00000008. Uninstall any programs you don't need. It might be a good time to back up and delete any music, photos, or videos that are using a lot of space.
Windows 10 Storage Sense can find and free up space in Windows 10, or you can use a third-party drive cleaner.
3: IRQL NOT DISPATCH LEVEL 0x00000008 - Check Disk for Errors
Open PowerShell or the Command Prompt as administrator.
To check the disk for errors, type in chkdsk /f E: replacing E: with the correct drive letter.
If your drive passes the tests, you might try Microsoft System File Checker because it can scan for, and restore, corrupted files in Windows.
3: IRQL NOT DISPATCH LEVEL 0x00000008 - Update Drivers
As mentioned earlier, hardware or drivers can cause the error.
You can update your drivers in Device Manager, from your computer manufacturer, or manually using third-party updaters.

4: IRQL NOT DISPATCH LEVEL 0x00000008 - Windows Restore or Reset This PC
If all else has failed, restore from System Restore.
If you don't have any System Restore points, then try Windows 10 Reset or Reinstall Windows 10. Back up your photos, documents, music, and videos first.
